servants better salaries, Zanu-PF national chairman Cde Simon Khaya Moyo has said.
In an interview yesterday, Cde Khaya Moyo said Zimbabwe could bust the illegal Western sanctions by making use of its vast natural resources.
“Finance Minister Tendai Biti, although he has delivered his 2011 budget, can still present a supplementary budget to take care of this situation and indeed pay reasonable salaries to civil servants.
“This is not a time to play political games at the expense of the people,” he said.
Cde Khaya Moyo said Zanu-PF, as a liberation party, would continue mobilising people ahead of elections so that they vote wisely.
“It must be remembered that the united revolutionary party liberated the entire country including urban areas.
“Nobody owns any urban seat as historically we normally have one foot in the rural areas and another in the urban areas.
“Nobody should claim to own any city. On this issue, I need to emphasise that we are now on the chapter of economic emancipation through indigenisation and empowerment.
“Our programme is irreversible, sanctions or no sanctions, as we were our own liberators,” he said.
On another note, he said he was concerned that people have to travel to Harare to get documents from the Registrar-General’s Office.
“It has become apparent that the RG’s Office needs to decentralise to provincial capitals across the country.
“People are spending sleepless nights in queues to secure such documents and we as a party are concerned by that situation,” he said.
