BLABBERMOUTH: Rest in peace, cadres

THE rate at which well-known figures in our community are dying is not only painful, but leaves us wondering who among us could be the next to leave our beloved Mother Earth.

Tears are still running down our cheeks after losing this other well-known businessman whose kind heartedness and humility we will always remember.

While in the midst of mourning our dear departed businessman, we received the sad news of the death of one of the administrators of a game that has suddenly become so popular.

He was a good man indeed and fellow administrators of the game united in giving him a befitting send off.

Then we heard more sad news.

This week we were back again at the cemetery to bury “Master”.

Blabber is informed that he breathed his last a few days after complaining of a headache.

Yours Truly is humane and will never celebrate death. It is against that background that Yours Truly commiserates with the bereaved and pray that the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.

However, Blabber being Blabber, is duty bound to speak about the good, the bad and the ugly that unfold before us, even if it means blabbering about the deceased.

Such is the nature of this profession that we call journalism!

This is why Yours Truly will not keep quiet about the sexual shenanigans of the departed Master who terrorised sex workers around the city as he imposed himself on them, in most cases without their consent.

Blabber knows and understands the pain of some sex workers who were used and were never paid for their services.

Yours Truly will never forget how he also terrorised innocent people around our beautiful city.

He used to receive money from uncouth businessmen to beat up estranged girlfriends or rival suitors.

He would do anything for money. In fact, dear reader, he was a mercenary in his own right!

Blabber is also aware that, at some point, he used to enjoy the support and backing of some powerful elites who would make him escape even from the long arm of law.

Yours Truly will never forget how he lied to one of his handlers that some law enforcers had made him pay a US$20 bribe and at the behest of this handler, the poor officers were made to give him US$20 which they had not taken from him.

Much as he was a likeable fella at times, there are things in his private life that he could have handled better and Blabber will not be silent about that.

In all the pain and agony of losing our loved ones, we will always be mindful of the Biblical teaching that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Amen!
