I HAVE encountered many foolish young men in my time, but none matched the folly of a boy who proceeds all the way to roora negotiations when, every single time he meets his girlfriend, her mother is present.
Yours Truly cannot condone deceitful families who accept roora knowing full well that their daughter will never enter marriage. Yet, men and women of God, please, we implore you — do not raise foolish and reckless boys in our churches under the guise of moral uprightness.

Onto a different matter entirely. There is no escaping it — our past actions, whether good or bad, inevitably yield corresponding future results. This truism speaks to accountability, cause and effect, and moral consequence. Every decision is a seed planted, and in time it grows.
Granted, results are not immediate. Like farming, growth demands time and care. But plant a seed and you will, without fail, harvest that very plant.
We learnt this from the case of a certain lady who ran a vehicle importation business between 2022 and the present, promoting her services through social media, electronic platforms and print advertisements.
Although it all unfolded in that other city that never sleeps, those who knew her lifestyle during her time in our beloved city were not surprised by her recent arrest and subsequent court appearance.
She assured prospective clients that she could source and import vehicles within agreed timelines and at competitive prices.
We all watched as she squandered clients’ money on holidays at upmarket resorts and even abroad.
Her latest incarceration should serve as a lesson to us all, particularly to that other male vehicle importation dealer we wrote about in a recent edition of this widely read column.
By now he should realise that people will always find a way to secure justice when they have been duped.
Blabber is pleased that our dear male vehicle importation dealer has changed course, and to salvage both his business and reputation, he is now doing the right thing.
Yours Truly is aware that he has gone back to those he wronged to negotiate win-win settlements — something Blabber respects and commends.
When we put pen to paper about our waywardness brothers and sisters, the aim is not to humiliate. No! We genuinely care for them.
All we seek is to help build a better community for us all, where fairness is the order of the day.
After all, as an elder in this community, it is the duty and purpose of this column to unite people while correcting the social ills in our midst.
