THE championship race and subsequent ticket to Premiership promotion in the Pacific Storm ZIFA Eastern Region Division One could be decided by results from this afternoon’s fixtures or go to the wire at the weekend as the two-horse race between Yadah Stars and Deportivo La Murambinda inches closer to the finishing line.
Both teams face tricky encounters today as former top-flight leagues sides stand in their way.
The Miracle Boys host Masvingo United at Heart Stadium, while the Feruka Boys are away to Buffaloes at Mutare Showgrounds.

Yadah Stars lead the log standings with 76 points from 34 games while their closest rivals Deportivo La Murambinda are two points off the pace in second position, having played a game more.
Going by results at the two respective venues, the championship could be decided today.
Victory for the Miracles Boys and defeat for their rivals could see the Walter Magaya-bankrolled outfit bounce back among the big boys of the domestic game.

On the other hand, failing to collect maximum points coupled with a win for the Feruka Boys would take the race to the final round of fixtures.
The permutations make this afternoon’s showdowns in Harare and Mutare must-win matches for both teams, setting the stage for bruising battles.
