THIS this week was hectic for many due to back to school headaches, and Yours Truly, being human just like anyone else, went through the same.
But thank God, Yours Truly has mastered the art of dancing in the rain.
After all, this was just a phase, and it is certainly not the same with what this other good old brother of ours is currently going through in his personal life.
I mean this dear brother of ours who has suddenly fallen on hard times after years of balling in the fast lane, wining and dining with the rich and the famous.
Gentle reader, at times, it is better to live on a little than to lose a lot. This bother of ours will attest to this truism.
He lived a luxurious lifestyle back then. He made a lot of money during the days of precious stones’ deals in our beautiful city. They used to call him the boss, or the big boss.
His phonetics of his first name reminds us of dialling phones.
Who doesn’t know that he had a fleet of cars numbering more than 10 parked at his spacious home in that other medium-density suburb whose name is similar to a male person’s name.
The name of that suburb means dear or beloved. Gentle Reader, when they say a small leak will sink a great ship, they are not joking. Wealthy people often go broke slowly through unchecked, lavish habits before they realise the damage, and this is exactly what this dear brother of ours went through. He wasted his money on thigh vendors and betting in casinos.
We all know how he used his house to accommodate beautiful dancing queens after performing in city pubs and bars.
Word reaching Yours Truly is that the place he used to call home is now being held as collateral after he borrowed a huge amount of cash from those money lenders.
With the rate at which people lose properties after failing to pay back money borrowed from money lenders, we can only shudder to imagine what our dear brother will be able to recover.
Gentle reader, the boy is now at a time in his life when sudden ruin exposes false friends, pride, and the fragile nature of material abundance
It is sad to know that the brother is going through the psychological pain of going broke, which is harder for those who once had everything.
After all is said and done, we can only pray to the Almighty that we always remember that in this life we live, possession of money and riches, just like power, can be temporary hence the need to be kind to everyone we deal with. I rest my case!
