Zifa Southern Region Division One Soccer League giants Black Boots are targeting a win against Hwange based outfit Mpumalanga at the weekend.
Black Boots have failed to pick up from where they left last year. They have won just three matches, drawn one and lost two.
They now sit eighth on the table trailing pacesetters Plumtree Chiefs with nine points.
Coach Kudzai Mutuda said they are ready for Mpumalanga.
“We obviously want to win but we can’t say much as the result is determined after 90 minutes,” he said.
Mutuda said they were taking each game as it comes and said it was too early to be discussing chances of winning the championship.
“The team is looking sharp and we have a full strength squad. Our aim is to take each game as it comes, we will start setting targets when we reach the mid-season but for now, I am happy with the squad,” said Mutuda.
The Police Support Unit side signed Simon Njeleza and Tendai Ndlovu during the off-season to beef up their squad after losing Prince Nkomo, Wilfred Muza and Mthulisi Nkomo.
Black Boots are bubbling with confidence after brushing aside Elephant FC 2-1 in their last encounter while Mpumalanga lost on the same scoreline to Agent Sawu-coached Ntabazinduna.
In other matches, high flying Plumtree Chiefs will travel to the coal mining town to take on ZPC Hwange.
