A CLEARING agent based at Plumtree Border Post died on the spot when his car rammed into a bus along the Bulawayo-Plumtree Road.
Close relatives identified the man as Vuyelwa Mlilo, 24, from Dingumuzi suburb in Plumtree.
“He was alone on his way home from Bulawayo on Wednesday evening when the accident occurred. The family was informed about the accident around 11PM. You can contact the police for more details,” said a relative who refused to be named.

Eye witnesses said Mlilo lost control of the vehicle which then encroached onto the lane of traffic coming from the opposite direction just outside Bulawayo.

“He rammed into a bus which was coming from the opposite direction and died on the spot,” said a witness.
His friend Irvine Muzenda, the owner of the vehicle, said he was devastated by the accident.

“I was shocked by his death because he was not just a friend but I treated him like a brother. He borrowed the car to travel to Bulawayo,” said Muzenda.

Comment could not be obtained from the police.
