Black Coffee gig confirmed

FANS of Black Coffee can heave a sigh of relief after the DJ cum musician confirmed that he is coming to Bulawayo to perform at Horizon Pub and Grill on Saturday. The show, dubbed “The Global Soul Experience”, will have the family of 3D Events DJs supporting the Durban born muso. A representative of Soulistic Music who only identified herself as Morena, told Chronicle from South Africa that Black Coffee was coming for the show.

“I can confirm that Black Coffee is coming to Bulawayo. His manager Amaru is not in the office but we are coming to Zimbabwe and will land on Saturday,” she said.

This allays fears that Black Coffee might fail to pitch up for the show.
Promoters of the show 3D Events director Mduduzi Mdlongwa said they were ready to host Black Coffee.

“The Black Coffee event is on and we are ready to host the Global Experience. We are doing this in conjunction with Horizon Pub and Grill. The event will be about dancing and having fun. We want to bring quality entertainment to Bulawayo,” he said.

Mdlongwa said in anticipation of a large crowd they had increased the number of entry points to the joint.
“There will be three entry points to the venue, one from downstairs, the other one is upstairs and some will use the elevator. This is to help ease congestion as we expect a large number of Black Coffee fans to attend the show. The bar has been stocked up and there will be tight security,” he said.

According to his Facebook page, Black Coffee was born in Durban, KwaZulu Natal and grew up in the Eastern Cape in Mthatha, before moving back to Durban to study music at Natal Tech where he majored in jazz.

His reason for studying music was because he felt that as a producer, he had to deepen his overall musical knowledge, develop his listening skills and advance his knowledge of music theory.

Leaving Tech prior to completion of his studies, Black Coffee with two friends Thandukwazi “Demor” Sikhosana and Mnqobi “Shota” Mdabe worked as backup vocalists for the renowned Madala Kunene.
