The Black Motion duo is making strides in the music industry and is celebrated all over Mzansi.
But this has left a bitter taste in the mouths of many.
The pair’s former manager, Dominic “Matanta” Komane has said the two should clean up their act or else . . .
He claimed the duo reneged on the contract they had with him, which is still legally binding. According to Dominic, the contract signed in 2010 stated clearly that anyone who wanted out, should first discuss the matter.
But Robert “DJ Murder” Mohosana and Thabo “Small” Mabongwane just left without saying goodbye.
“Now they should face the music,” said Dominic.
Dominic said when his relationship with Black Motion started, the group was still called Black Boys and it consisted of DJ Murder, Small, Obakeng “DJ Bucks” Ramahali of Nyoso fame and Silas “Silly West” Sithole. Dominic said he was approached by Kenneth “Nyeks” Manyemula, who was a member of the group at the time.
“The guys asked me to be their manager and were also using my studio at the time.”
He said they signed under his company, Tshwane Artists Promotions (now known as Mr Dis Family).
“That was when the name was changed to Black Motion. The group signed as Black Motion and everything went well. That’s until DJ Murder and Small started snubbing Silly West and DJ Bucks. Things got bad and the next thing I learned was the duo was under new management,” Dominic said.
“They even got rid of Nyeks without thinking twice. Dominic said he had tried over the years to get the two to sit down but it just won’t budge.
“Now I want them to get together with the dumped members of the original team and reconcile. I also want a meeting or I’ll take the legal route to make them pay for breach of contract,” he said.
But DJ Murder said this was a smear campaign to make them look bad.
“I don’t remember signing any contract with Dominic. Yes, he listed us under his company for the World Cup, but all that’s gone now,” DJ Murder said.
“We just moved away from Black Boys and did something we could focus on. We saw no future in that group.” DJ Murder accused Dominic of being a fraudster.
“He should send us the contract,” DJ Murder said, and added the contract is not binding. Thabo’s phone was off and could not be reached for comment. – DailySun.
