Black Rhinos midfielder Kuda Nyakudanga is expecting a tough match against Ngezi Platinum in the Chibuku Super Cup Semi-Final against Ngezi Platinum on Saturday at Bata in Gweru.
Chauya Chipembere have had a poor campaign in the league but have, of late, shown character and putting up a fight to survive, which has seen them beat the likes of FC Platinum and Manica Diamonds.
They have been even better in the Chibuku Super Cup, beating Sheasham, Manica Diamonds, and Chicken Inn on their way to the semi-final.
Black Rhinos, who decided to continue using Bata in Gweru despite the re-opening of National Sports Stadium, have since set up base in Kwekwe.
On the field of play, Nyakudanga has proved to be a phenomenal force and already registered three goals since his return from injury including their last game in the league against Chicken Inn.
Rhinos were on the losing end in their league encounter with Ngezi and they are aware of the danger they pose.
Ngezi are the current log leaders, and eight points clear of second-placed Dynamos.
“We are aware of the danger they pose and we recently lost to them in a league match. But now it is a different game because it’s a cup game which means it’s a knock-out so we will fight till the end,” said Nyakudanga.
“We are going to put all of our lives right to the end because we know that if we win we will have a single game left which is the final which will take us to Africa so we are aware of all that. We are going to fight.
“I’m really feeling excited about the game and I have got higher expectations about the game. As a team we are just preparing it like all the remaining matches are finals.
“We are well prepared for the match and we want to win it at any cost though we are playing a tougher opponent which recently defeated us in the league so it’s going to be a tough match,” he said.
Nyakudanga is targeting all their remaining matches in the league as he believes they have a good chance of surviving.
“Our aim as a team is to win all the remaining games because the position we are currently right is not good at all but looking at the past few games we have had some positive results so the motivation and confidence is back in the team and all the players are excited and happy and looking forward to win all the remaining games in the league for us to survive the relegation.”
He is still excited by the goal he scored in the 1-1 draw with Chicken Inn on Saturday.
“With that goal again, I feel very excited because the goal was also a cracker scoring from outside the box.
“In PSL these types of goals are very rare. I liken them to magic and seeing myself scoring again and again and helping the team to collect some points makes me happy considering the position I play,” he said.
