Black Rhinos hopeful

BLACK Rhinos assistant coach Ndega Matsika feels his side will not be relegated from the Premiership and has challenged his troops to remain focused on collecting maximum points. The army side on Sunday beat How Mine 3-0 at Luveve with veteran striker Phillip Marufu scoring a brace while Lot Chiwunga added the other goal.

Chipembere are tied on points with Hwange and now their former goalkeeper Matsika hopes that at least nine points from the remaining 21 will see them surviving relegation.

“It was good to get a result against How Mine but the battle against relegation is still on. For now we can get some relief knowing that we are getting out of the relegation zone.

“We are still in danger but now there is some hope if we get results from the next matches.
“We still have tough matches against Highlanders and Buffaloes. There is also Hwange and I want us to beat Hwange on our own instead of waiting for results from somewhere.

“So we need to get maybe nine points and see how it goes,” said Matsika.
The assistant coach feels Rhinos were wasteful in their previous matches.

“We did not deserve to lose against How Mine in Mbada Diamonds Cup because we dominated but failed to score.
“Now I am happy that Marufu and Chiwunga appear to have found their scoring boots.

“There is also Gilbert Mushangazhike, whom I think is good but needs to work harder to get goals,” said Matska.
