BLACK RHINOS have ensured the Nedbank Premier Netball League leaders ZDF Queens do not feel secure at the summit after recording a whitewash in the Harare Bubble plaued at the Mbare Netball Complex on Saturday.

The soldiers were rampant and took their tally to 44 points, the same as ZDF Queens who retain a superior goal difference with a game in hand though.

But it is the manner in which Black Rhinos rolled over their opponents that must have left ZDF a worried lot especially considering that the two haven’t met for the return leg yet.

Inspired by Player of the Bubble Joyce Banda, Rhinos massacred Marondera 91-16 and elbowed out Mutare City 35-21 in an exciting tie before sending Stormers to the cleaners in a 53-26 rout.

Banda believes Black Rhinos can still go on to win the title if they remain focused.

“The matches are becoming tougher by the day and I thank my teammates for a good all-round display,” said Banda.

“I am happy and we need to continue working hard and see where we will be at the end of the race.”

Harare District are also still in with a good chance and were good value for their money in the Masvingo Bubble where ZDF Queens also asserted themselves well.

District Goal Shooter Ashley Mutasa said her girls have what it takes to fight on and ultimately take the prize.

“I think we have a good chance of defeating ZDF Queens. Being third on the log means we have a strong team, and with focus, strategy, and teamwork, we can overcome the leaders,” she said.

“Remember, netball is a dynamic and fast-paced game, and any team can win on their day we have to focus on our strengths, work on our weaknesses, and play smart”.

District overcame City Angels 54-18 and Argistars 82-7 in the two games they played.

ZDF Queens had to move a gear up to beat Beitbridge 48-42 in what was certainly the match of the week.

They also eased past JT High Fliers 72-30 and walloped St P&P 132-05 in boringly one-sided game.
