The group was on a three-week tour of the United Kingdom, Estonia and France.
In an interview, the group’s director, Sotsha Moyo said their tour was successful even though it was only for a short period of time.
“We decided to start our 30th anniversary celebrations in style by visiting our fans that are in places that include UK, Estonia and France.
“This was in response to requests from our fans in these countries who wanted to celebrate with us,” he said.
Moyo said Black Umfolosi got an overwhelming response in Estonia despite the fact that it was their first time to visit the country.
“We had never visited Estonia but the response we got when we arrived there was just overwhelming and the promoters indicated that they wanted us to return for more shows,” he said.
Moyo said the group would perform locally in different parts of the country as part of the celebrations.
“We decided to come back early, so that we can celebrate with our local fans who have supported us for years,” he said.
Moyo said they would soon conduct imbube training sessions at different schools in Bulawayo.
Director of Sungura Masters, Masotsha Ndlovu said Black Umfolosi were doing a lot to promote the arts industry in the country.
“Pupils stand to benefit a lot from groups like Black Umfolosi,” he said.
The group was formed on 15 March 1982.
