Blanket Mine Q2 output up

GWANDA-based gold mining firm, Blanket Mine, has produced 13 499 ounces of the yellow metal in the second quarter ended June 30, 2020 reflecting a 6,2 percent increase compared to same period last year.

The mine, which is owned by Caledonia Mining Corporation, has a target to produce between 53 000 and 56 000oz this year.

In a statement, Caledonia said: “Approximately 13 499oz of gold were produced during the quarter, an increase of approximately 6,2 percent on the 12 712oz produced in the corresponding quarter of 2019.”

The mining group also indicated that the total gold output for the first half of the year was 27 732oz about 12,5 percent above the 24 660oz produced during the comparable period in 2019.
