GOSPEL prodigy Blessing Shumba will finally unveil his sixth project titled Calvary at his first ever album launch slated for Golden Peacock Villa Hotel tonight (Friday).
Shumba, who now prefers to call himself the Psalmist, was spoilt of choice and suffered a torrid time to come up with 12 songs to be contained on the album after he recorded more than 37 tracks at Olin Anderson’s Kunashe Studios.
The multi-award winning musician revealed that the launch would be attended by distinguished invited guests, among them government officials, fellow musicians, family and friends.
The compact discs will be sold at the venue and guests will be accorded a chance to wine and dine with Shumba and his family. The Chimwe nechimwe hit maker will belt out all songs on the new album as well as his yesteryear hits.
“We will not pre-empt much.
“We are excited that this is our first ever album launch and we hope that it will be a resounding success.
“It was not easy to come up with a list of final tracks carried on the album but with the grace of God we managed to compile soulful songs for all gospel lovers. We are expecting quite a number of artistes across all genres to attend the ceremony,” he said.
Shumba’s wife, Pauline features on most songs carried on the album. The event starts at 6pm and ends at 8pm.
