A visually impaired couple based in Epworth, Harare, is seeking assistance from well-wishers to take care of their five children and start a self-help project to support themselves.

Gwezura Muzibwa (47) and his wife, Sarah Mujuru, have been begging on Speke Street for five years since Gwezura lost his sight to measles.

He stated that he earns between $5 000 to $10 000 from begging, but cannot pay rent, school fees or provide food for his family.

He is seeking capital to start a self-help project and move out of the streets.

Muzibwa, who is from Kapota in Masvingo, said he and his family had decided to move to Harare to try and make ends meet after being struck with blindness.

“Ndaneta nevanhu vanouya pano vachiita mari neni vobva vaenda. Chandava kungoda kuti vana vangu vawane zvekudya nezvekupfeka.

“I am looking for well-wishers who can assist me with capital to start my own small self-help project so that I can move out of the streets,” he said.

Gwezura can be reached on 0771138012.
