GREEN Fuel host Mutare City in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One Soccer League top-of-the table clash in Chisumbanje tomorrow.
Pacesetters Green Fuel are yet to lose in 18 fixtures.
In the reverse fixture, Mutare City lost 2-1 at home.
The Chisumbanje side are under the guidance of Lloyd Mutasa, who has won two titles in the same region before, with Kiglon and Highway.
Mutasa’s troops are six points clear at the summit, backed by their rock solid defence, which has amassed 15 clean sheets, and conceded just three goals.
Former Dynamos defender, Obey Mwerahari, who is on the books of Green Fuel, described the fixture as the mother of all tests.
“This is the most important game of the season considering where we are and the difference it can make,” said Mwerahari.
“The preparations are going on well, everyone is working very hard and as players we are ready to give all we have for this match.
“The morale is really high, we are very positive and confident of getting the much-needed three points.
“There are no injury worries at the moment.
“I believe the home advantage will give us the extra drive and we can bank on our fans, who have been sacrificing a lot for us.”
Mutare City coach, Kenneth Kachara, insisted his men were capable of taking home a positive result.
“It’s a big game, a match for the fans and everyone who loves football should be there to watch this match.
“We have our aims and objectives for the season and getting promoted is fundamental, we are still alive in the race and we have been through a lot to be where we are.
“I’m optimistic the boys will do their best, we just need to go there and play our normal game and the better team will win.”
