BLOODY FEUD IN UMGUZA! Man hits woman with machete

A 25-YEAR-OLD Umguza man struck his neighbour on the forehead with a machete following a heated argument over an undisclosed issue.
Joseph Nyathi, appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube charged with attempted murder. He was remanded in custody to 30 October for trial.

Prosecutor Cathrine Kuzu told the court that the violent incident occurred on Sunday, 19 October 2025, after Nyathi clashed with his neighbour Zanele Maseko (32).
A heated argument erupted between the two, and in a fit of rage, Nyathi allegedly grabbed a machete and threw it directly at Maseko, striking her squarely on the forehead.

The court heard that Maseko fell to the ground bleeding profusely as neighbours screamed for help. She was rushed to hospital for treatment, and police were called to the scene, leading to Nyathi’s arrest.
In a similar case of family fury, another 25-year-old man from Upper Rangemore landed himself in jail for stabbing his relative during a heated confrontation.

Igunda Katumba appeared before the same magistrate facing charges of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing Mawu Katumba (22) once in the chest with a knife at the Phase Four Clothing Factory on October 20 around 5PM.
The victim sustained a deep stab wound and was rushed to hospital for medical attention.

Prosecutor Kuzu said a police report was made, leading to Igunda’s arrest.
