ZIM DANCEHALL sensation Takura “Blot” Chiwoniso has set social media abuzz after checking into the Matrix Rehabilitation Centre in Harare in his fight against drug abuse.
The Harare Cup Clash winner, who recently opened up about his desire to confront his demons, received help from Pastor Prophet Kudakwashe Jose of Victorious Generation International Church.
Pastor Jose pledged to assist Blot in his quest to combat drug and substance abuse after he recently joined the church.
In his message after sending Blot to the Matrix Rehabilitation Centre yesterday, Pastor Jose highlighted that he was merely providing Blot with a chance to renew his life.
“My desire is to see my generation free from drug abuse. This is why we took our dear brother Blot to the rehab centre, Matrix. I long to see my generation saying NO to drugs and YES to Jesus,” he stressed in a statement. Pastor Jose has vowed to change Blot’s life following rehabilitation at the centre.
“After rehab, we plan to find decent accommodation for him and his family, and to support him with projects that will help rebuild his life. This is not the end — it’s just the beginning!
“We are also reaching out to communities, doing the same for others who are struggling, bringing hope and restoration through the love of Jesus Christ. Drug abuse is destroying many of our brothers and sisters, but together we will rise, fight, and win this battle. Let’s stand together and declare: Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Jesus,” he emphasised.
Several bloggers had a field day sharing pictures of the dishevelled Blot in rehab.
“Shame, ndanzwa tsitsi. Dai Mwari vangomusimbisa parwendo rwaatanga asadzoke kumashure,” commended a loyal fan, Daddy J — John M. Phiri. Another fan, Mary Nhari, posted: “Thank you, Prophet Kuda, my head boy at high school; keep on doing great things.”
A third fan, DJ Obvious Ovidy Chiore, added: “Kwasara ngwere dzese hombe nediki.”
Blot, who faced off against Silent Killer during the 2025 Harare Cup Clash, has previously found himself in trouble after being discovered in possession of drugs. He was arrested for possession of crystal meth but was later acquitted of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs in 2023.
The offer came from Prophet Kudakwashe Jose of Victorious Generation International Church during the recent handover of residential stands to the main winners of the 2025 Harare Cup Clash, Mogo Vibes and Lady D.
“We are glad that Blot has given his life to Christ after realising that it is never too late for him to do so.
“I believe he deserves to check into one of the best rehabilitation centres, where he will return as a new person.
“It’s up to him to accept the offer and that’s the best thing we can do for him right now.
“He is not the only one we plan to help, this is an ongoing programme. This is just the beginning, and we want to see more young people getting support.
“As we indicated, this is part of our campaign where we are ‘saying no to drugs and yes to Jesus.’ We are in this fight together.”
Godfatha Templeman, who presided over the prize-giving ceremony, also commended the clergyman for his initiative.
“This is comendable because free rehabilitation is one of the best things one can ever receive in life.
“Such initiatives are necessary if we are to successfully combat these demons and win this war as a united front.”
Jack Radics, who has been managing Blot’s affairs on both a voluntary and consultancy basis, believes the chanter needs to fully embrace this opportunity for his benefit.
“To be honest, I am happy as someone working closely with him because I do many things for him, like managing and mentoring him for free,” said Radics.
“People of Blot’s calibre need this kind of support, and I will always do my best to ensure that he accepts the offer. The ball is in his court, and it is my hope that he takes it and comes back in good shape.”
