ZIM dancehall star, Takura “Blot” Chiwoniso, has made a sensational comeback with a new song titled “Shungu dzeBofu” following his release from remand prison last month.

The chanter was arrested on allegations of drug possession and discharged after the State failed to prove its case.

In a recent interview with H-Metro, Blot expressed gratitude for the second chance and the opportunity to continue making music.

“Jail is not a pleasant place to live and munewo vanga vasina mhosva seni but never get a good judgment.

“I learnt a lot during my short time in jail and I am using that experience to inspire my music and other youths to stop drug abuse.

“I have already received a positive welcome from my fans and I am grateful,” he said.

Unpacking his new song, Blot explained:

“Shungu Dzebofu is a powerful song that speaks to the struggles of being incarcerated and the importance of second chances in life.

“Mostly, it is a song to tell my fans that I am back in the studio.”

Blot is one of the Zim dancehall artists who got themselves into trouble with the law for drug possession.

The late Soul Jah Love was believed to have worsened his diabetic condition by using drugs.

Currently, Saintfloew is in rehabilitation in South Africa as he fights drug and substance abuse.

He is expected to make a full recovery.
