After trades, the mainstream index was down 0,19 percent or 0,35 points to 188,03 points and the mining index declined 0,54 percent or 0,82 points to 65,39 points. Daily revenue came in at US$913 934 on a volume of about 10,99 million shares, up from Wednesday’s US$611 742 on a volume of 8,625 million traded shares.
Delta Corporation, the largest company in value terms, gained a marginal US0,99c or 0,81 percent to US123c in deals worth US$245 815 on a volume of 199 850 shares. The company has announced the introduction of non-returnable bottles for its premium lagers. Diversified resource firm RioZim was 4,46 percent lower at US45c.
Hwange fell 4 percent or US0,50c to US12c, amid reports that the mining firm has engaged forensic auditors to investigate its costly debt in excess of US$30 million. PG Industries led the top risers for the day, adding US0,20c or 33,33 percent to US0,80c. CFI gained US0,50c to US5c. The company said last month it had secured a strategic partner for its milling division, Victoria Foods. Clothing retailer Truworths advanced 6 percent or US0,30c to its best level in 52 weeks of US5,3c.
Innscor’s associates, Natfoods and Colcom, traded In the positive, advancing US5c and US1c each to close at US215c and US26c respectively. Afre continued to rally after gaining another US0,51c or 4,86 percent to US11,01c, its best level in 52 weeks. Aico Africa recovered US0,20c or 2,94 percent to US7c.
Top loser for the day was cement manufacturer PPC which dropped 4,35 percent to US10c.
Seed Co traded 4,3 percent lower at US67c. Padenga Holdings eased 4 percent or US0,20c to US4,80c. Trust closed buyers and sellers only at US0,4c and US0,8c respectively.
