LONDON. – Chelsea and Manchester City have been warned they could be booted out of the Premier League if found guilty of breaching FFP rules.

City are vehemently contesting the 115 charges brought by the Premiership legal chiefs in February last year.

And an Independent Commission is expected to start hearing the case in late autumn.

Chelsea are yet to be charged.

But last summer they were flagged up for financial misconduct committed during the Roman Abramovich era which saw payments made to agents from accounts that did not go through the club’s books.

The Stamford Bridge club’s latest financial accounts showed that £150m was set aside when Todd Boehly and Co bought the club to cover potential legal costs.

And now the two Prem giants have effectively been told they could face the ultimate sanction – by the Commission that deducted Nottingham Forest four points this week. The Sun
