BLUE MOON SHINING . . . It’s not all DOOM and GLOOM at DeMbare

Sports Reporter

DYNAMOS have been generating a lot of negative newspaper headlines amid explosive allegations of extortion in their camp and a deep-seated belief in juju by some of their coaching staff.

The dismissal of head coach, Herbert Maruwa, last week has opened a can of worms.

It has thrust the Glamour Boys firmly into a pool of negativity with some of their stakeholders, including fans, being sympathetic to Maruwa.

Others, though, have backed the club’s leadership arguing that Maruwa was lightweight and didn’t have the capacity to guide their team to glory.

The negative headlines, which have been piling with each passing day, have overshadowed some of the good work behind done by the club in the background.

The insistence by the club’s leadership that their players adopt a business approach to Match Days, where they will go dressed in suits, has been a welcome initiative.

It speaks to the very heart of professionalism, something which is a key requirement, for Dynamos to find a way to the transform their appeal into a commercial dividend.

“The brand is everything, what you present to the potential sponsors is what you usually get and while this is routine in professional set-ups, it’s refreshing that Dynamos have adopted this as a way of how their business should be portrayed,” said a marketing expert who chose anonymity.

“Those players in suits, on the days they are going to work, which in their case is going to play a league or cup game, sends the right message to the corporate world that the club is walking in the right direction.

“One has to give credit to their main sponsors Sakunda Holdings because I think this has added a certain level of pressure on the Dynamos officials to always send a message that they have respect to the investment which is being pumped into the club.”
