A fourth minute strike by Tigere Muraganda secured Blue Rangers’ first victory of the season after Hardbody conspired to let down their fans at Ascot yesterday.
Reports of discontent in the Hardbody camp once again took its toll on the players who are said not to have been paid their winning bonuses after their win against
Quelaton last weekend which was their first away win.
Hardbody gaffer Tavaka Gumbo in reference to the discontent said the result was because of a “psychological disadvantage” his side suffered.
“We are suffering from a psychological disadvantage and that was the difference in today’s match,” said Gumbo in reference to the midweek clash against FC Platinum away at Mandava. After Hardbody took control of the proceedings early in the match where Rangers hardly had possession, the Harare side took their first chance
when Muparaganda connected home Talent Munetsi’s cross after receiving a pass from former CAPS United defender Charles Manjera.
Hardbody never recovered as all their efforts to level the scores were thwarted by a determined Rangers defence.
