Bluesky Herbal World (Private) Limited fined US$600 for selling unapproved complimentary medicines.

Harare magistrate Mrs Lisa Mutendereki has fined Bluesky Herbal World (Private) Limited US$600 after she found the company guilty of selling unapproved complementary medicines.

The company, which was being represented by its manager, Nyaradzo Chawira (45), was convicted for contravening the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act.

The court heard that on June 22, 2026, detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics, Harare, received information to the effect that the company was selling unapproved complementary medicines in Harare CBD at number 22 Morgan House, Corner First Street and George Silundika Avenue.

Acting on the information, detectives proceeded to the address where they found Chawira serving customers.

Detectives introduced themselves to her and informed her about the purpose of their visit before requesting permission to carry out an inspection.

They noticed that the products on sale were complementary medicines and called inspectors from MCAZ to assist in the verification process

Further searches were conducted at Chawira’s workplace, leading to the seizure of unapproved complementary medicines.

Chawira was subsequently arrested and escorted to CID Drugs and Narcotics, Harare.

The unapproved complementary medicines were seized under seizure number 0208376 and have an approximate street value of US$26 286 and can be produced in court as evidence.
