BMX interprovincial champs for Bulawayo

Matabeleland Busters BMX Club track will on 19 October play host to Zimbabwe Inter-provincial BMX Championships were riders from Matabeleland and Harare will compete.

Matabeleland Buster’s BMX club chairman Jacob Nel said they are greatly looking forward to the event that will see riders aged between six and 14 seek to outdo each other. 

“This requires us to be adequately prepared and meet the expectations of the riders that are going to take part. We anticipate approximately 30 riders. Participation in the event is important as it forms part of the team Zimbabwe selection,” said Nel.

He added: “Riders selected to represent Zimbabwe will have a chance to participate in the World BMX championships in the USA next year. Participants at our forthcoming event will therefore need to be at their very best so that the catch the attention of Zimbabwe team selectors.”

Riders that will come out in the top three in their respective age groups will be awarded place medals that will be presented to them by the National BMX Association of Zimbabwe representatives.

Meanwhile, Nel said they are appealing for sponsorship that will help them source fuel for travelling teams.
