Mutasa South National Assembly Member Irene Zindi was last Friday robbed of her vehicle and other valuables by three suspected criminals masquerading as police officers.
National police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said the suspected robbers visited the legislator’s farm in Manicaland and lied that they were investigating the Baba Jukwa case.
Sen Asst Comm Charamba said the trio forced Cde Zindi into her Ford Everest vehicle (registration number ACY 3316) and also forced her to drive towards Harare.
One of the three men is said to have taken control of the vehicle and driven towards the capital.
The suspected robbers later told Cde Zindi that they were not police officers, forced her out of the vehicle and strangled her. They then drove away in the vehicle.
Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the suspects to report to any nearest police station. – ZBC News
