A SUSPECTED bogus dentist was on Tuesday exposed for operating illegally in Ruwa by abusing the name of a qualified medical doctor.
Shame Mukwenha was exposed by a local medical doctor only identified as Dr Musoro.
Shame was claiming to be Dr Musoro to his clients as well as using letterheads and a company stamp in Dr Musoro’s name.
Shame turned one of the rooms he rented, together with other tenants at House number 204 Benjamin Road in Ruwa, into a dental clinic.
Dr Musoro learnt about Shame’s illegal activities when one of the clients, who personally knew him, called to alert him about the situation.
He took the matter to the Health Professions Authority (HPA) and lodged a police report against Shame at Ruwa Police Station under RRB 6061523.
Contacted for comment, Shame said he was, indeed, a doctor and could not comment since the case is now under investigation.
“Yes, I am a doctor but the matter is now in the hands of the police so I can not comment on it,” said Shame.
Dr Musoro told the news crew that he visited the house, which had been turned into a dental clinic, where he was welcomed by some of Shame’s fellow tenants.
“I learnt about this Shame operating using my name from one of his clients.
“I visited the house seeking dental services and that is when I came to know about him.
“I took the matter to HPA and they ordered police to closely monitor him last week,” said Dr Musoro. – (@H-Metro)
