ZIMBABWEAN fighter Elvis “Bomber” Moyo is relishing the prospect of getting his hands on former Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) heavyweight champion Matunga Djikasa who taunted him after defeating his training partner Vandam Mbuyi a few years back.
Moyo who is based in South Africa will face Djikasa from DRC on October 10 at the Sun Arena Time Square Casino Menlyn, Pretoria, and is hoping to teach his opponent a lesson on respect in a bare knuckle fight.
At the time of their fall out, Moyo was Mbuyi’s training partner as well as coach for the title fight that happened in Johannesburg, South Africa. After the match, a video emerged of Djikasa charging to Mbuyi’s corner where he started taunting Moyo through the cage.
Djikasa was seen punching the Hexagon fence that separated him and Moyo before the latter made an attempt to scale the cage to confront Djikasa. Mbuyi recovered from the knock delivered by the then EFC heavyweight champion to defend his corner before security stepped in to break the fighters. Moyo says he is ready for a fight despite having not fought professionally in a while. Djikasa is also no longer part of EFC.
“Preparations for the match are good. I have been lucky to get a couple of sponsors with the bigger one and chief sponsor being Natural Mineral Water and Tripple 111 VIP Security. These have made my training camp amazing. With five years absence from pro fighting, I needed to double down on my training and Feroz Gany, CEO of Africa Brand has made it super possible.
“I am eight weeks out for my fight so it’s going to be epic. I was hoping to get a ring rust dust off in Harare, Zimbabwe but the tournament has been postponed a couple of times. It looks like I will be diving straight in to the deep end. I’m super excited to see what doors this fight and victory will open for me. BareKnuckle is another up and coming raw competitions. It’s super exciting to be a part of it and obviously settling a personal score with my opponent,” said Moyo.
