IT’S Derby time in the City of Kings when Highlanders clash against Chicken Inn at Barbourfields today.
Bosso are going into this fixture on the back of two successive wins.
The Gamecocks have won once in their three outings.
This fixture is expected to attract a huge turnout.
Highlanders’ Brazilian coach, Baltmar Brito, has been destroying the club’s unwanted records.
He ended their lengthy wait for a victory, in the capital, against Black Rhinos and then shattered FC Platinum’s dominance over them.
Chicken Inn ‘keeper, Donnovan Bernard, has been a key feature in keeping the club at the top end of the table.
His numbers are already impressive as he has kept three clean sheets in their opening three fixtures.
Last season, Bernard finished just a clean sheet behind the Castle Lager Premiership Golden Glove winner Nelson Chadya of Ngezi Platinum Stars who recorded 19 shutouts.
Bernard acknowledged that Bosso were currently the most supported team in the country but insisted they were going to get motivation from their opponents’ intimidating crowd.
“Everyone is highly motivated for this derby, Bosso are the team of the moment but their fan base is a motivation on its own for us to get a positive result,” said Bernard.
“Winning this game will be a morale-booster for our next assignments and, at the moment, helping my team to win the championship is what is on my mind.
“I think my personal targets will come after accomplishing what the team wants.”
