THE search for a Highlanders Football Club brand ambassador is on.
As part of the cluba��s 90th anniversary celebrations Highlanders has partnered respected modelling instructor Sarah Mpofu, the head of Fingers Modelling Agency to hold a Miss Highlanders beauty pageant at the end of the year.
Fingers Modelling Agency has in the past produced top models among them Oslie Muringai (Miss Zimbabwe 2004), Lorraine Maphala Phiri (Miss Zimbabwe 2005) and Caroline Marufu (Miss Tourism 2006) and male model Shadel Noble.
The requirements for the Miss Highlanders beauty pageant have been relaxed to allow for many entries.
While being a mother is a big NO in national and international beauty pageants, that rule has been waived for the search of the Bosso ambassador although the organisers still maintain the contestants must not be married.
The rebranded Miss Tourism Zimbabwe, formerly Miss Carnival, upped the stakes this year and set a minimum of an A-level qualification as part of requirements for the beauty pageant searching for the countrya��s tourism ambassador.
While a sound educational background will be an added advantage Miss Highlanders organisers will not restrict the beauty pageant contestants to holders of A-level qualifications.
a�?Ita��s important for the models to be eloquent, confident and comfortable in their own skins because the ultimate winner will be the brand ambassador of a very big football club although we have relaxed some of the usual requirements that apply to national and international beauty pageants. The reason being we want to involve as many models as possible,a�? said Mpofu.
The Miss Highlanders pageant organisers have also forgone the requirement that calls for slim and tall beauties.
a�?The pageant is open to women of all sizes whether they are attached to Fingers Modelling Agency or any other agency or just up-and-coming models who think they have what is takes to take to the ramp. Confidence is key.

Application forms for auditionsA� are now available at Fingers Modelling Agency for contestants aged between 18 and 30 years.
Highlanders will use the winning model to market the cluba��s regalia and the Highlanders brand at corporate and social responsibility events.
