THE CASTLE Lager Premiership enters into Matchday Seven this weekend and a double header in Bulawayo awaits.
So far, the league has produced 104 goals and it is expected that players find the back of the net again and add on to the already soaring goal tally.
On Sunday, Highlanders play host to neighbours Chicken Inn at Barbourfields, while at Luveve, Bulawayo Chiefs welcome Simba Bhora. Both encounters count as must see matches in the campaign.
Highlanders are the roll. They have not lost a match in the season so far, in what put them at a better stead and pose a threat to the Gamecocks. The hosts in the derby had to settle for a one all draw against Ngezi Platinum. The defending champions were the first to score through Walter Vuwa. Lynoth Chikuwa made the reply for Kelvin Kaindu’s charges.
Chicken Inn are also a confident lot too. They won 2-0 over Greenfuel last weekend, with Brighton Makopa and Michael Charamba finding the back of the net. This is a team that started the season blowing cold but, had to find their mojo with their first win at Luveve against Greenfuel.
“A game against Highlanders is a big one and a special one. We are greatly looking forward to the match. Hopefully, we will get a positive result. It’s a must win match for us but it is going to be a difficult one. We are going there to fight and it all needs a positive approach, Highlanders are yet to taste defeat, so they are a tricky side,” said Chicken Inn assistant coach Fungai Tostao Kwashi.
Bosso will largely bank on their inform strikers Lynoth “Sonjy” Chikuhwa and Brighton “MaNinja” Ncube for goals.
Chikuhwa has scored four goals for Tshilamoya and Ncube is on three goals.
In the other potentially explosive match in the city, Bulawayo Chiefs will have to up their game as they face a resurgent Simba Bhora. The visitors enter the weekend with a spring, basking in the glory of their victory against Dynamos in week six.
The “Go Bhuju Go” boys beat DeMbare 1-0. Walter Musona was on target.
In other matches, Hwange will be against defending champions Ngezi Platinum Stars at the Colliery.
