Bosso fans get free transport to Barbourfields

Savanna Tobacco, through their Pacific brand, will carry Bosso supporters, whose team is at the top of the log, from 12 different pick up points in the western suburbs under their promotional tag “Emagumeni lePacific.”

Although no official confirmation could be obtained, sources said about 20 kombis have been sourced for the exercise.

“As a club we welcome the idea with open arms as some of our supporters have always found it difficult to come and watch their team in action, citing exorbitant transport and gate charges,” said club secretary Andrew Tapela.

He said it was their hope that the new promotion will see an increase in attendance at their matches which means an increase in revenue.

Tapela however said people should not abuse the facility to get free rides when not attending matches.

Some people have suggested that selling tickets as people get into the buses could be another way of going round the problem of cheating.

The buses start carrying people as from 1pm.

According to an advertisement in yesterday’s Chronicle, fans will be transported to the stadium and are expected to fund their own way back home.

The company introduced the system for all Dynamos home matches earlier in the season.
