Bosso for life: Tshinga Dube

HIGHLANDERS life member and long standing financial backer, Makokoba MP Rtd Col Tshinga Dube says he will not turn his back on the Bulawayo football giants.
Dube, who last week raised concern at the poor performance of the team this season, this week said despite his concerns, he remained a “Highlanders son”, adding that he hoped the club will be able to get a coach who would turn around the fortunes of the club next season.

Dube, who helped the club acquire a bus from South Africa, said he would continue to assist the club financially if need be, contrary to reports that he had said he would no longer “pour money into a bottomless pit”.

“The sponsors of the club are BancABC and we highly appreciate that, whatever little we contribute can only help a little whenever means avail themselves. I shall always be a Bosso member I can not see how I stop supporting my club when I have means. I am a Bosso member for life inspite of differences that we may have from time to time. It is very unfortunate that my personal opinion seems to have been seized by club members who seem to want to further their goals using my name,” he said in a statement.

Sources at the club said Dube had already engaged the club with a view of assisting lure an expatriate coach to help the club fight for Premiership honours next season.

“He has been talking to contacts abroad to see if he can get an experienced coach who would turn around the fortunes of the club and is willing to assist in that regard,” said the source.

Despite writing an open letter to the club executive and board, outlining his concerns at the poor state of affairs, the 74-year-old Member of the House of Assembly for Makokoba, who disclosed that he has supported Highlanders for 64 years is convinced that Amahlolanyama are not dead as yet and can be resuscitated if the current problems bedeviling the club are fixed.
