The coach had earlier told Chronicle Sport that he will name his 2012 squad this coming week and speculation was rife that the Shabanie friendly match will be the last for Highlanders before the announcement of the team.
“I cannot say exactly that this will be our last friendly match before we announce our 2012 squad. It will depend on how the boys play and if we are satisfied then perhaps we will name the squad but if not, we might have another friendly,” said Kaindu.
The delay could be attributed to the large influx of players that are being brought in almost every week despite the fact that members were told during an annual general meeting
that the team will not hold trials this season.
Even Kaindu agreed that the large numbers was putting him under a lot of pressure but players spoken to said the Zambian was introducing an exciting brand of football which has the potential of seeing Tshilamoya challenging for their first league title since 2006.
The team though is likely to be moulded around the majority of players that were doing duty for the club last season with a few additions, mostly from the juniors after it emerged that the majority of the executive members wanted to stick to the resolution made by members.
“We might be having players coming in now and again but I can promise you that a majority of us in the executive are not for the idea. A very limited number will be taken on board,” said one executive member.
Some of the boys said to be training with Highlanders include Mthulisi Maphosa who is said to have played a blinder in Kwekwe last week, tough as teak former Hwange skipper Gerald Ndlovu, his teammate at Hwange, Andrew Chuma and Beavan Chikaka who had a stint with Zimbabwe Saints before packing his bags in the second half of the season.
Also in the Bosso camp is former Chicken Inn midfielder who had started his career at Bosso, Heritani Masuku, Milton Ncube as well as Brighton Dube.
The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League 2012 season kicks off at the end of this month but the fixtures are expected to be released today during the PSL annual general meeting in the capital.
