Bosso ladies fail to raise team

THE Highlanders women’s basketball team has failed to raise a team  for the weekend fixtures as the Bulawayo Basketball League enters its second week after the mid-season break.Bulawayo Basketball Association secretary-general Howard Phangwana said the basketball giants have asked to be excluded from this weekend’s fixtures.

“Highlanders have raised some concerns about taking part in this week’s encounter, but we can’t disclose the issue as it is still under investigation,” he said.

It is alleged that Highlanders have lost most of their players to their rivals in the league.  In the men’s category Highlanders will be hoping to continue their fine form when they take on Lords while Southern Mavericks will clash with Mavericks.

In the last weekend encounter Highlanders men’s basketball team resumed its title chase with a 53-43 thrashing of Unicorns of Gweru while Mavericks kept their hopes alive as they thumped Kings 76-46.

Giants beat Lords 85-38 as Oilers won 71-62 against Kaos in another men’s league encounter
