ITaS all in a car!
Highlanders FC CEO Ndumiso Gumede says he needs a a?more respectable cara? amid revelations that first team coach Erol Akbay has been bought a Nissan X Trail.
a?The supporters should consider buying the clubas chief executive officer a C Class Mercedes Benz. Iam driving a Vintage car. I need a respectable car,a? he said.
Gumede drives a 1970s 280SE Mercedes Benz and Akbay will drive off from wins and losses in a slick SUV.
a?The car comes courtesy of our members in South Africa. However, itas not coming from that popular group called Bosso South Africa Chapter. The car was bought by boys who identify themselves as Amahlolanyama Golf Club and they are based in Johannesburg.
a?Let me say, they provided the funds of buying the Nissan X Trail and our driver will be travelling to South Africa to fetch the new car,a? said Gumede.
Itas not the first time that Bosso have sourced a car for their coach as in the mid 1980as their then mentor Bobby Clarke drove a sponsored Nissan Pulsar.
At first Erol (Akbay) had little knowledge about Zimbabwe and in particular Bulawayo. Since his arrival from his Dutch native country he was being driven to and from work.
He seems to have acclimatised well and in that regard, Bosso recently hired for him a VW Polo to drive his family around when they came down for a visit.
a?We hired the car at a special rate from LED Travel and Tours,a? said Gumede.
