FRESH turmoil has engulfed Highlanders Football Club, after players reportedly boycotted training over outstanding salaries and bonuses, raising fresh concerns over the club’s preparations for upcoming league fixtures.
Ahead of their match against Dynamos, sources close to Bosso said players had gone for weeks without receiving their full payments, leading to growing frustration within the squad. Several senior players are understood to have stayed away from training sessions in protest.
Earlier disputes over unpaid wages also disrupted training schedules, highlighting the ongoing financial challenges facing the Bulawayo giants.
The industrial action comes at a difficult time for Bosso, who have been battling for consistency on the field. Club officials are reportedly working to resolve the impasse and persuade the players to return to training.
Supporters have expressed concern that the off-field problems could affect the team’s performance as the season progresses. Many fans are now calling for a lasting solution to the club’s financial difficulties.
“The players want what is owed to them, and they hope the matter will be resolved quickly,” a source close to the team said.
As negotiations continue, Bosso supporters will be hoping the crisis is resolved before it causes further disruption to the club’s campaign.
