UNCERTAINTY hangs over the philanthropist Wicknell Chivayo’s Benjamin Mwariwari offer to coach Highlanders with all expenses taken care of.

On Monday morning Chivayo wrote on social media that he would pay Mwaruwari’s salary and take care of his welfare. He pledged a further million above the US$500 000 that is outstanding from an earlier million dollar donation.

The Highlanders executive on Monday night issued a statement to say due processes in the recruitment of a coach were in place.
Bosso in their statement said they recognise Chivayo’s gesture and appreciate it. They went further to say as the club’s benefactor he had acted in the best interests of the club, but insisted that they had processes and procedures that speak to the hiring of a coach.

“The club is in the process of finalising with a potential candidate to take over from De Jongh in time for the coming season. This development will be shared with the Highlanders FC family once concluded,” wrote Bosso.
