HIGHLANDERS are smelling blood and FC Platinum are the team in the line of fire.
After being tormented by the Zvishavane side last season, Bosso now want vengeance on Sunday at Barbourfields.
Coach Kelvin Kaindu isn’t hiding the mission. He has been studying the enemy.
He knows what they bring to the battlefield.
And, this time, he believes his boys are ready to end the curse.
“Last season, this is a team that we failed to beat home and away,” Kaindu told Zimpapers Sports Hub.
“But, despite their slow start this season, they are still unbeaten.
“That says a lot about how dangerous they are.”
Last year, Bosso lost 0-2 in Zvishavane and 0-1 at Emagumeni.
So far this season, Highlanders are sitting pretty in fourth place with 17 points.
They are coming from a 2-0 win over Yadah at the Heart Stadium where highly-rated forward, Reason Sibanda, was the hero with his double strike.
FC Platinum are in eighth place with 14 points.
But don’t let the table fool you, these games are never about positions.
They’re about power and pride.
“They like to play from the back through the midfield. They don’t change much. But this time, we’ve got the guys to stop them.”
Skipper Ariel Sibanda is out as he hasn’t recovered from injury.
“He hasn’t been training and won’t be available,” Kaindu confirmed.
Now it’s a toss-up between Reward Muza and Raphael Pitisi for the gloves.
Defender Andrew ‘Tower’ Mbeba, who has just returned from injury, is likely to wear the armband.
Kaindu also revealed that seven players picked up knocks in their last game, but he’s hoping to have them ready by Sunday.
Gate charges have gone up for this blockbuster clash.
The cheapest ticket will cost US$5.
Barbourfields is expected to be rocking.
