Bosso start pre-season preps

Newly appointed assistant coach Bekithemba Ndlovu and goalkeepers’ trainer Tembo Tshuma took the 43 players that attended the session through their paces.
Kaindu is on a coaching course in Europe and according to Highlanders’ manager Amin Soma-Phiri the Zambian expatriate is going to come up with his own programme.

Soma-Phiri said they decided to get going with their business so that they could assemble a pool of players from which Kaindu is going to identify his 30-member squad.
The other Bulawayo clubs in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, Chicken Inn and Quelaton, started their preparations last week.

“As you can see we have started training but what is basically happening is that the guys are just going through some basics. The coach is coming soon and he is the one who has his training programme that he will want followed.

“We saw that most of the times when you start your preparations late you end up having average players and what we are doing now is getting the boys together, coming up with a group where the coach will select those that he wants to use,” said Soma-Phiri. Motor Action utility player Milton Ncube, Atlast Musasa who was at Black Mambas last season, Dumisani ‘Fazo’ Ndlovu and Moreblessing Nyokanhete, among others.
Ndlovu and Nyokanhete made their Premiership debuts at Bantu Rovers with the former spending last season at Zimbabwe Saints. Most Highlanders’ players from last year who include the club’s Player of the Year

Innocent Mapuranga, Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year finalist Graham Ncube, national Under-23 team goalkeeper Arial Sibanda and Arnold Tshuma were part of the proceedings.
Defender Brighton Choto, whose career at Bosso has been dogged by injuries as spent the better part of last season on the sidelines, also trained with the team.

A number of juniors who include Knox Mutizwa, Ackim Mpofu and Honest Moyo ran through their paces.Highlanders lost Gilbert Banda and Louis Matawu to FC Platinum with goalkeeper Lovemore Makuwarara crossing the floor to Chicken Inn.
