HIGHLANDERS are close to a deal that could see them rope into their technical team, Harold Nhachi, popularly known in fitness circles as Rock, as their fitness trainer.
Bosso’s new coach, Mark Harrison is said to have requested that Nhachi, an employee of Body Works Gym where Highlanders hold their indoor workouts becomes part of the technical team. That has seen the club engage in talks with Body Works Gym to see how the fitness trainer can balance duties between the two, with an agreement said to be close to being concluded.
Highlanders chief executive officer, Nhlanhla Dube said they were in talks with Body Works Gym on the likelihood of Nhachi joining their technical team, with nothing finalised as yet.
“Body Works Gym are one of our strategic partners, we are still in conversation with them over the possibility of Rock working with us. He is already training the team at the gym but there is nothing formal as yet, we will advise when there is something concrete,’’ Dube said.
Body Works Gym director, Nathan Greenland indicated that they were willing to assist Highlanders in whatever way they can on matters relating to the fitness of their players.
“We were told that Harrison is impressed with Rock and would like him to train the team and as Body Works Gym, we will assist Bosso in every way possible. He (Harrison) is also impressed with our gym so we are working on a package to help the team and any injured players to recover and for those who want to do extra training,’’ Greenland said.
Highlanders were left without a fitness trainer when Brian Keti resigned from his job in August last year. Nhachi had worked with Highlanders on a voluntary basis before the club chose to hire Keti fulltime. — @Mdawini_29
