BOTSWANA have been awarded the right to host the 2014 African States Bowls Tournament, which is one of the most prestigious international lawn bowls competitions on the continent.The tournament will take place in Jwaneng, Botswana, mid-next year with seven countries participating.
The African nations who are going to take part in this tournament include Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Malawi and the host Botswana as they will roll it out in four bowls categories — Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours.
The Botswana Bowling Association public relations officer, John Gaborutwe, said they were happy and looking forward to hosting the African States tournament next year.
“We are happy and we are looking forward to host the prestigious event, the African States,” said Gaborutwe.
Meanwhile, the Botswana Bowling Association have been in the process of finalising their rebranding exercise in order to make the association more appealing to the public and corporate world for sometime now.
The Botswana Bowling Association chairperson Kitso Roberts feels it is a good idea and they are still to finalise everything.
