A Jilted lover from Chirundu has been slapped with 210 hours of community service after he cracked a beer bottle over his ex-girlfriend’s head when she refused his drink offer at a local motel.
The Karoi Magistrates’ Court heard how the violent attack unfolded on 22 March 2025 at Chirundu Motel, where the offender flew into a rage after his former flame turned down his peace offering.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the brute grabbed a bottle and smashed it on the woman’s forehead, leaving her with a bloody gash in shocking scenes witnessed by other patrons.
Despite the vicious assault, the attacker dodged jail time – walking away with just community service under Zimbabwe’s gender-based violence laws.
