A MUTASA teenager (16) is alleged to have tried to rape a woman twice his age in a bush in Dowera Village. Appearing before Nyanga provincial magistrate, Mr Ignatio Mhene on Monday, the teenager (name supplied) denied the charges and was remanded to August 27 for continuation of trial. Prosecuting, Mr Calvin Mufute, said on March 9, at around 1pm, the woman was fetching firewood with her son in a bush when they came across the teenager.
“The accused approached the complainant and her son left them alone.
“The teenager proceeded to where the complainant was tying her firewood and forcibly fondled her breasts. She tried to escape, but the teenager tripped her to the ground and forcibly removed her undergarment.
“The juvenile blocked her mouth to stop her from screaming. After a struggle she managed to remove his hand and screamed for help. Upon screaming, the teenager ran away from the scene,” said Mr Mufute.
