A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy from Claris Farm Compound in Nyanga was yesterday electrocuted, while his two colleagues sustained injuries when they accidentally came into contact with a power line on their way back from Sadomba Primary School.

Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed the incident, saying Tinotenda Chidzambwa was playing at a telephone pole close to a power line along the road between his homestead and Erin Forest when the mishap occurred.

Chidzambwa was in the company of his young brother (six) and friend (nine) when the power line sparked and injured the three boys.

Assistant Inspector Chinyoka said Chidzambwa died upon arrival at Nyanga District Hospital where he had been rushed to, while the other two boys sustained serious injuries on their hands.
