Boy in fatal fall from slope

A 15-year-old Bindura boy died on the spot after slipping down a mountain slope while picking mushrooms with his friends at the weekend.
Mashonaland Central Assistant provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Petros Masikati yesterday said: “We received a report following the death of Nunurai Mutengu of Mhara Street, Chipadze Township who died on the spot after falling from Jeta Mountain on Saturday.”

At around 3pm on Saturday, Nunurai and his three friends went to Jeta Mountain to pick mushrooms. While on the mountain, Nunurai lost his footing and fell down a slope, landing on a rock.

He died on the spot.

The incident was witnessed by Prince Tafadzwa (29) who reported the matter at Bindura Police Station. Police took Nunurai’s body to Bindura Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem.
