A MAN, who runs a shop at Longchen Plaza in Harare, claims his wife’s boyfriend sent her US$7 000 to spoil herself.
George Mazarura hauled his wife, Bridget Karikumoyo, and a man only identified as Mwashita, to court.
He said the two were breaching his peace by insulting him.
“Bridget is my wife but she has many boyfriends and one of them sent her US$7 000 to spoil herself and she bought a car and built a house for her parents in the rural areas,” he said.
“I married her with her two kids and the father of the child sends money but she never uses that money towards the upkeep of the children and I am the one who is maintaining the kids.” Bridget denied the accusations.
“My husband is a liar, he assaulted and insulted me on 18 August and I left home and currently I am not working.
“I used to purchase things in Mozambique and I gave him the money to keep for me and it was not from any boyfriend.
“I only called the woman’s husband to tell him that his wife was creating cracks in my marriage and I never dated him.”
Mwashita was represented by his lawyer who said:
“In his affidavit he doesn’t state where and why he was assaulted by my client. The issue between the two is that he is having an affair with his wife.
“George was warned to stop proposing love to his (Mwashita’s) wife but he hurled insults on
Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted George the peace order against Mwashita.
