THE Bradford Private School Under-14 boys’ volleyball team has proved to be a force to reckon with.
These players are shaping their destinies at a tender age.
In early September, the team barely made an impact and was not recognisable as schools competed at provincial level.
The team used to be a nonentity.
However, the past three months have been an eye-opener for the young heroes.
Training and experience are a recipe for greatness. Our coaches Mr Rukomba, Ms Gomo and Ms Chidemo have relied on this formula to turn the team around.
Above all, the Almighty made the dormant giant get on its feet.
The team closed the year on a high note.
The players were runners-up in the Under 14 Eaglesvale Volleyball Tournament.
They battled it out against volleyball’s greatest in Harare, including St George’s College.
They lost two matches out of five, losing each set by a margin of two points or less.
Captain Jessel and the team are legends in the making, and ones to watch out for in 2023.
These boys may be small in stature but their energy and determination will make them scale dizzy heights.
The school hopes the team’s record will continue to improve.
With such good work, 2023 is likely to be a year of trophies and gold medals for the volleyball team.
