BPA annual general meeting set for 25 Feb

THE seventh Bulawayo Pool Association (BPA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) is set for Saturday 25 February at Raylton Recreation Club.

In a communiquA� that has been sent to the associationa��s stakeholders, BPA publicity secretary Farai Nyandoro said the meeting that is set to start at 1pm, will have seven items on the agenda.

a�?We will have seven items on the agenda that will include reading and confirmation of the minutes of last yeara��s AGM, the reading of chairmana��s report, presentation of financial statements, amendments to the constitution and executive elections,a�? said Nyandoro.

Late last week some members of BPA resigned from their executive committee posts because of internal squabbles.
Christine Singwe who was the acting chairlady, Mandlenkosi Makohwa acting secretary general said the BPA family no longer wanted them in office.

Others who stepped down are Robin Goremucheche and Philani Mlotshwa who held the positions of fixtures secretary and committee member respectively.

The associationa��s executive committee is now left with four members that include Farai Nyandoro (publicity secretary), Lucy Mpofu (treasurer), John Mahachi (referees chairman) and Flata Moyo (committee member).

For the AGM, the executive committee has found finding it very important to include the BPA members who have players or officials who are well versed in auditing to propose and second them for an internal audit process.

Meanwhile, the all ladies Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Bulawayo pool teama��s preparations for the forthcoming annual Commissioner General Sports Gala to be held in Harare in April have gathered amid revelations that they have roped in renowned city pool player Desmond Edwards to be their coach.

The team recently established camp at Palace Gardens where they train from 8am to 5pm daily.
